As our home city of Philadelphia is grappling with the tragic death of Walter Wallace, Jr. on October 26, 2020, the Pennsylvania Action Coalition extends its deep condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Wallace and the West Philadelphia neighborhoods that have been traumatized by his horrific death. We acknowledge that this tragedy is representative of the pervasive inequities and injustices that black and brown communities experience every day. The realities of these disparities have been exacerbated by the pandemic, the tense political climate and the dire need for increased access to mental health services. Our hearts go out to our most vulnerable individuals across Pennsylvania. On behalf of the Pennsylvania Action Coalition, we want you to know that we are here for you and send our endless gratitude for all that you do to advocate for the patients whom you serve. Thank you for keeping all of us healthy and safe. Thank you for your patient-centered care and for working to create a more inclusive and diverse healthcare workforce. We are inspired everyday by your passion and commitment. We need to provide support for our colleagues and lift each other up in these difficult times. We are committed to pushing further everyday with you to creating the future we want to see.
