The Pennsylvania Action Coalition Cohort of Exchanged Learning (PA-ACCEL) Mentorship Program invited nursing students and new-to-practice nurses to participate in 2024 Nursing Student Professional Development Week. This virtual event took place from Monday, April 22 to Thursday, April 25, 2024, offering an enriching experience designed to empower nursing students and nurses across Pennsylvania, increasing students' confidence in their professional development and readiness to succeed in their transition to the nursing profession.

The Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition engaged in a strategic planning process that led to the development of a 5-year plan and a brand refresh as the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition (PA-NWC). This initiative aims to advance the nursing profession and address workforce challenges.
The Pennsylvania Action Coalition Cohort of Exchanged Learning (PA-ACCEL) took five students from its mentorship program to San Francisco, California, to attend the 52nd Annual National Black Nurses Association Institute and Conference. The students had the opportunity to learn about state-of-the-art clinical instruction on such subjects as cardiovascular disease, cancer, children’s health, diabetes, and much more. In addition, they engaged in networking with different professional and student nurses from across the country.
In this episode, Donna Bailey, CEO, guides us through the pivotal role of Community Behavioral Health (CBH). CBH funds crucial mental health treatment for Medicaid recipients in Philadelphia, ensuring accessibility and support.
We focus on CBH's efforts in supporting pregnant or parenting individuals, including collaborations with the Joseph J Peters Institute (JJPI). We explore NNCC's successful collaboration with JJPI, connecting over 200 clients to essential therapy services.

On September 26, 2024, the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition hosted a successful and engaging breakfast at the 2024 Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (PONL) Annual Leadership Conference in Harrisburg, PA.
The pre-conference event marked the unveiling of the PA-NWC’s new strategic plan and the introduction of its key initiatives, aimed at advancing the nursing profession in the state.

On Friday, October 18th, the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition hosted a Nurse Residency Summit at the Penn State Hershey Campus, bringing together Nurse Residency Coordinators and Directors of Nursing.
The Summit provided an opportunity for attendees to connect, discuss ongoing projects, share updates on the progress of their programs, and outline their goals for advancing their residency initiatives.
