In a special collaboration, the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition joined forces with Kouvenda Media’s Obscured Journalism Initiative to host a thought-provoking panel discussion on law enforcement interactions within the community and the implementation of a harm reduction care model.

The Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition attended the 36th Annual National Black Nurses (NBNA) Day on Capitol Hill with students from the Independence Blue Cross (IBC) Foundation's Healthcare Scholars Program (HSP).

Recap of Nursing Student Professional Development Week
The Pennsylvania Action Coalition Cohort of Exchanged Learning (PA-ACCEL) Mentorship Program invited nursing students and new-to-practice nurses to participate in 2024 Nursing Student Professional Development Week. This virtual event took place from Monday, April 22 to Thursday, April 25, 2024, offering an enriching experience designed to empower nursing students and nurses across Pennsylvania, increasing students' confidence in their professional development and readiness to succeed in their transition to the nursing profession.

Bridge to Better: Improving Access to Behavioral Health Treatment
In this episode, Donna Bailey, CEO, guides us through the pivotal role of Community Behavioral Health (CBH). CBH funds crucial mental health treatment for Medicaid recipients in Philadelphia, ensuring accessibility and support.
We focus on CBH's efforts in supporting pregnant or parenting individuals, including collaborations with the Joseph J Peters Institute (JJPI). We explore NNCC's successful collaboration with JJPI, connecting over 200 clients to essential therapy services.

On Friday, October 18th, the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition hosted a Nurse Residency Summit at the Penn State Hershey Campus, bringing together Nurse Residency Coordinators and Directors of Nursing.
The Summit provided an opportunity for attendees to connect, discuss ongoing projects, share updates on the progress of their programs, and outline their goals for advancing their residency initiatives.
